Pony Express Days

Photobucket
Last week was our city's Pony Express Days. They have stuff going on all week and on the weekend. Friday afternoon we decided to splurge on overpriced carnival rides and a caramel apple for me. Savannah was beyond excited when we walked over there. As we got closer and closer she was like, "I want to go there. Over there!" It was really fun to see her so excited and to have a little fun. Cooper was a champ and pretty much sat in the stroller the whole time. We didn't use all of our tickets on Friday so Saturday we went back but had to explain to Savannah that we could ride 3 rides and that was all; then we had to go. She was mildly upset but did better than Friday night when she had a full on meltdown and cried the whole walk home, while saying, "I'm hungry, I want to go home!" She didn't seem to understand that the reason we left the carnival was to go home and eat. Silly girl. (Sorry some of the pictures are cut off.)

Photobucket Mommy no likey this strawberry ride. It was one of those awesome spinning ones that doesn't go terribly fast but enough to bother you. Well, when you get stuck in one with two other kids who also want to spin the inside wheel and make it go faster it = not so fun.

Photobucket Savannah really wanted to go on this big maze contraption, but once she got in there, she got scared and realized she couldn't really do it. We tried to encourage her and one boy was trying to help her but she just kept turning around and coming back out because she couldn't get up the big rope climbing thingy. No idea what that's called but way too hard for a little three year old. Anyway, the guy let Carter go in with her and help.

Photobucket Saturday morning the city had a parade, which is literally right on the street behind our house. We've gone the last 3 years, and always rushing out there because we forget. Savannah was super excited to get candy and see Spiderman and the Hulk. They weren't there this year. But Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were. She got lots of candy and showed me every little piece. She made friends with two little boys and they helped her get candy too. They talked about super heroes and Skechers shoes. Cooper was pretty good for about half the time and then didn't want to sit in the stroller anymore. It was pretty hot and I got some color.

Photobucket Savannah: "I want to do that!"

Photobucket This was a bad idea for my shirt. Cooper: Turn head and wipe mouth all over Moms shirt. Multiple times. Action complete.

Somebody was pretty excited about all this candy. He wanted to shake it all! He loved the sucker he got!

It was nice to spend some family time together and have a little fun. It's always fun to just watch the kids have fun. Even if that means overpriced carnivals. Oh, but that caramel apple tasted so good. And it came without nuts. (me no likey the nuts on caramel apples) Score.
